My dear mother, of course is not a very interesting people, has the ability to surpring everyone by doing little things .

Two days ago, I just realise sth funny, it exist everyday, but I never thought about it carefully. I know it is strange, but I do not know why. I did not ask, since I always forgot to ask, and I do not like to ask…….

It is the Internet nickname used by my dear mum : “Old S”. My mum use this name just after I went to U.K, 1.5 years ago. Before, she just had one name: Ruby or added her surname with it Ruby Xu. However, since she started to use the SKYPE, she changed to be “Old S” .

At the begining, I thought it maybe used by my father, since he always call himself Mr Old Wen, but I am not sure why he chose “S”. Although it is quite strange for him to use “S” instead of “W”, I never take it seriously. Even my uncle asked me about the strange name my parents used for SKYPE…..I supposed it is just for sth funny, or easy to remember. I thought it maybe related to the surname of mum, because it is hard to pronounce “Xu” in english, so she may prefer “Shui” to be her english surname. But it still wierd. Why use “S” for a chinese? …..

Untill two days ago, when I read news on website, and I suddenly remembered the popular sisters “Big S and Small S”, and I finally related this to the “Old S”…… I never know my mum has great interest to the two famous Taiwainese girls….. Although my dear mum do not have daughters like them, I do have a mum would to share the funny nickname with them.
